Saint Patrick’s Day falls on a Tuesday this year (2020). If you are looking for an Irish Restaurant for dinner, we would suggest The Dubliner in New Hope.
Saint Patricks Day 2020
A Celtic Band Na Bodach! will be playing from 4 pm to 7 pm. If you want to celebrate Saint Patrick’s day with Irish Dinner in an Irish Pub listening to Irish/Celtic music this is a great choice.
Na Bodach
Is a Celtic Band. Check their site out for more information. Below is a sample of their music from a performance in New Hope.
The Dubliner
The Dubliner is an Irish Pub in New Hope. We ate there about a year ago when Monique and RJ were playing there. The front has regular tables. The back, where the music was, has more of an Irish Pub atmosphere. Most of the tables are long tables where you sit with other patrons.
I opted for the Shepherd’s Pie. They also have other Irish Favorites such as Bangers and Mash, Fish and Chips, Lamb Stew and Guinness Braised Ribs. Of course, there is a selection of Irish beer and they make a great Irish Coffee.
As I looked at the memorabilia on the walls, it dawned on me that the name was related to the musical group, The Dubliners. I was familiar with them as they had worked with Mark Knopfler from Dire Straits.
Below is a video of The Dubliners doing “Whiskey in the Jar”. Note – The owners are related to the Dubliners but they don’t expect to see them as they are in Ireland. But they do have Irish and Celtic bands at the Dubliner.
The Dubliners
Here is one more from The Dubliners, The Irish Rover.
Getting there
Parking can be a little tight in New Hope. Most of the parking is “Pay by License Plate”. If street parking isn’t available , there is a small lot by the bridge (watch the costs though). There is also the much larger lot by the New Hope Railroad Station. For more information and reservations, see their site.
