Update -2020 – We stopped in for dinner on July 17th 2020. Seating was restricted. See below for details.
The Iron Oven was formerly Kenny’s. We’ve eaten there several times and had a great meal and service each time.
The Iron Oven in Southampton
The new part of the restaurant is a semi circular bar area with high-tops. There are really high definition televisions showing various games. During the summer, the garage door like windows roll up
We’ve had consistently great service and food. They have a great selection of beers on tap and in bottles as well as a decent drink list.
July 2020 (During the Covid BS)
Now that restaurants are allowed to have limited indoor seating, we gave the Iron Oven a try. They weren’t taking reservations. When we got there, we were told it would be a 15 minute wait. Customers have to wait outside and they will call when your table is ready. We barely got back to the car and they called to tell us that the table was ready.
The tables are spaced out and you need to wear a mask to and from your table. Some government genius thinks that covid will only get you when you are walking and will ignore you when you are seated. My girlfriend ordered a Blood Orange Cosmo and I ordered a frozen Blood Orange Margarita.
We split a crab bite appetizer. I guess it’s not politically correct to call it a crab ball appetizer any more. It was good with a very slight kick
I stayed on the crab theme with a crab cake sandwich and sweet potato fries substituted for French Fries.
My girlfriend went for the Caprese Flatbread with chicken added.
The dinner and service were great. It was good to get back out again.
December 2019
I ordered a Mackenzie’s black cherry hard cider. That was one of the better ciders I’ve had. Unfortunately they replaced that with a Chocolate Porter. Well, maybe not so unfortunately as that was also a good choice.
The concoction below is a Portobello mushroom with 3 shrimp, cheese and spinach. The appetizer has two of these so we split it. It is definitely on the ‘order again’ list.
My girlfriend likes flatbreads. This was their spinach and tomato choice. Whoever chooses the tomatoes is doing an excellent job.
I ordered their Pan Seared Chicken Breast, Fettuccine in a Home Made Alfredo Sauce served with Garlic Bread. The geek in me saw a Millennium Falcon when they served it.
Getting there
The Iron Oven is located at 1134 Street Rd, Southampton, PA 18966
The have a decently sized parking lot but it does fill up.
Summary
The Iron Oven is a friendly place with good food and drink. Check out their menu for details.
