The Newportville Inn is a cozy German restaurant. They have a cozy sunken outdoor beer garden for a relaxing outside meal. (updated Aug 2019)
German food and a cozy garden.
We visited on a beautiful summer day in 2018 so we decided to eat in their cozy garden. For some unknown reason, I didn’t get any pictures of that. (see below for our Aug 2019 update with a pic of the garden) The garden is away from traffic which allows for a relaxing dinner.
They specialize in German food and beer with offerings such as Schnitzel, Schweine Braten, Wurst and Sauerbraten. The food and service were excellent.
The interior is reminiscent of a German Beer Hall (of course). See the Newportville Inn site for more information
If you like German food, you might want to try The Devil’s Acre just north of Doylestown.
UPDATE – August 2019 –
We re-visited the Newportville Inn. We were looking for outside dining. Their Beer Garden is perfect. The full menu is available. It is someone sunken in the hill so the noise from the road is negligible.
We split an appetizer which was four scallops wrapped in bacon. I ordered the Blauer Engel (Blue-Angel) Schnitzel which was chicken with Black Forest Ham and muenster cheese. That comes with Spaetzle. My girlfriend ordered a Tuna Special. We ended with a blueberry and strawberry desert. The total price including a beer and two lemongrass martinis as well as an appetizer was $75.
