The Devil’s Acre Tavern is in Plumbsteadville and features a menu with a great selection of German food and beer as well as domestic selections.
Update July 2021
We re-visited the Devil’s Acre Tavern on a Saturday in July. They were seating inside which was fine with us. Even though they only had two waitresses, the service was great. As with many restaurants, they are having difficulties in finding staff. The food certainly lived up to our expectations. We split the Kielbasa dip again. I ordered pork Schnitzel as I had on our previous trip. We’ll have to go back so we can try some of the other menu items.
My girlfriend opted for a chicken salad. For desert we decided to try the salted caramel brownie with ice cream. That turned out to be an excellent choice. The plate in the picture below is about 8 inches square.

We passed the place a number of times and put it on our ‘to visit’ list. It was definitely a good choice.
We made reservations on their site for 2 on a Saturday evening.
We decided to try the Warm Kielbasa Dip. Ok, that is more Polish than German, but close enough. It was a generous bowl of dip with grilled bread. That was definitely a great choice.
I tried the Pork Schnitzel with Sweet Potato Fries and Goat Cheese Spatzle.
I took a chance with the Kostritzer Schwarbier, which , according to their menu is a “light bodied dark lager with notes of coffee and chocolate, Bad Kostritz, Germany.” The alcohol content was only 4.8%. That is definitely going on my favorites list.
